The University of New England, which is accredited by the New England Association of Colleges and Schools, offers an online MSW degree that is fully accredited as well by the Council on Social Work Education. The university offers both a traditional track and an advanced standing track. The advanced standing track is for students who have already obtained the BSW from a CSWE accredited school, while the traditional track is for students who may hold a bachelor's degree in another field. This traditional track provides students with the needed foundational courses to be successful in the field. Courses within the program include administration and supervision, advanced psychological assessment, advanced social work practice with families, contemporary theories for social work practice, human behavior and the social environment, integrating macro and micro frameworks, introduction to advanced practice and social welfare policy and programs, among others.

Saint Leo University, in Saint Leo, Florida, is a fully accredited Catholic university in the Benedictine tradition. The MSW program is undergoing the accreditation process to receive its CSWE accreditation. It is expected that the university's candidacy will be approved as of June, 2010. This program as of April, 2010 is offered to students in Florida, Virginia and Georgia. The program is a 62 credit hour program that is designed to last two years. Students who have obtained the BSW in the last five years are eligible to receive advanced standing and bypass the entire first year of foundational study. Those who are new to the field, complete this first year of studies in order to have a broad understanding of the field before matriculating into the second year of concentration studies.
