Kabir Medical College at Gandhara University is a private institution that was established in 1995 to meet the high demand for health care in Peshawar. The school accepts 50 students into the undergraduate medical program each year, setting aside 10 seats for non-resident Pakistani students. The 5 ½-year program includes onsite clinical training through the Naseer Teaching Hospital. In addition to Kabir Medical College, Gandhara University also houses schools for nursing, pharmacology, dental, paramedical and public health studies.

Originally named Lahore Medical College when it was founded in the 1970s, Allama Iqbal Medical College offers an undergraduate MBBS degree program. The public institution admits a limited number of foreign students, who must contribute to the school's endowment fund upon acceptance. Peshawar Medical College is a private institution located in the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP) area of Pakistan.
