The University of Colorado's medical students at the Anschutz Medical Campus, less than 10 minutes from Denver, work in the University of Colorado Hospital during their tenure in medical school. Many may choose to learn through the Center for Integrative Medicine, which emphasizes the maintenance and healing of not only the body but the mind and soul, too. The Center for Integrative Medicine uses a mixture of alternative medical therapies, as well as traditional Western medical technology, to treat patients. Each treatment plan is individualized, as the doctors at the center realize that a treatment must be specifically tailored to the individual needs and feelings of every patient. Medical students learn therapies that include acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, chiropractic care, herb and supplement use and dosage, massage therapy, mind-body therapy, nutritional counseling and yoga.
