The Concord Law School through Kaplan University offers a Juris Doctor (JD) degree for those who plan to make a career out of practicing law, as well as an Executive Juris Doctor degree designed to educate students about law at an advanced level without their becoming lawyers.
The program is set up for part-time legal students who already have a bachelor's degree, and is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week. This allows students to complete the workload on their own schedule. The system is set up in a way that allows students and faculty to have discussions in a one-on-one fashion. There is also a portal that allows student-to-student direct contact.

California Southern University's School of Law is an unaccredited but registered correspondence law school that allows its graduates to sit for the California Bar Exam. The university offers an online Juris Doctor degree for those who wish to practice law in California.
Students wishing to enroll in the JD program at California Southern should have a bachelor's degree from an accredited post-secondary school that is approved by the California Committee of Bar Examiners. In addition, California Southern requires applicants to submit a written statement explaining how the student's background and education have prepared him for a law program and how the student will be an effective distance-learning candidate.
The JD program requires 88 semester credits of coursework within the law school with a final GPA of 2.0 or higher. Graduate candidates must also be evaluated by the California Committee of Bar Examiners to verify the completed work.

American Heritage University in San Bernardino offers two law degrees from its online school of law. Students who wish to get a Bachelor of Science in Law (BSL) can obtain the degree though this correspondence program. This degree will qualify students for entry into graduate law school programs in which they can pursue a JD degree and go on to become lawyers.
The school also offers the JD for those who wish to practice law in California. Graduation from the program does not automatically qualify students to sit for the California Bar Exam. A full evaluation of coursework is required to take the exam, and any student wishing to practice law anywhere other than California should seek information from that state on the legality of attending a correspondence school.
