Abraham Lincoln University caters to students who like the options of accessing lectures online, by CD-ROM, or by physically attending "real" identical lectures. Law classes operate on the trimester system, and new students are admitted in fall, winter and spring.
Director of Admissions, Mel Morrison, explains that the feature of live videotaping for student access and archives is a unique feature of Abraham Lincoln University's online law school. ALU is the only law school in the world pioneering the virtual online live interactive law education.
Annual tuition as of March 2010 is $7,700 for the first three years, with the fourth year slightly higher. The university does not offer federally funded student loans but does offer a yearly payment plan with zero-interest installments. Students also allocate funds for additional expenses, such as books, resources and other fees.

California School of Law offers a four-year online program with two semesters in Constitutional law, giving students a strong basis to specialize in it after graduation. Students attend virtual classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights, and these classes are live. The school has three semesters per year, with each semester lasting four months. As of March 2010, each semester's tuition is $2,500, costing about $7,500 per year, or $30,000 for the four years needed to complete the Juris Doctorate degree. Classes begin in April, August and December. Students planning to attend should allocate additional funds for expenses, such as registration fee, books, technology and review classes.
William Hunt, Dean of the California Law School, emphasizes that the school is designed for working adults and those with families. By attending the online program, students can still work during the day, come home for dinner, have time to spend with their family and then log-on to the class from 6 to 9 p.m. twice a week.
The law school does not offer federal student loans. Instead, students can select from a choice of installment loans to pay tuition. Students study for four years, two classes a week, with short vacations during spring, the 4th of July and winter.
