This is a post-secondary, fully accredited, private, liberal arts college where ASD students can earn associate or bachelor's degrees in art and science, health and human services, interdisciplinary studies or acquire a vocational certificate. The Gersh Experience focuses on career and friendship with customized support and assistance with daily skills, employment and money management. There are weekly social outings, a mandatory two and one-half hours of academic tutoring per week, dormitory-style living halls or two bedroom apartments, and a shuttle to and from the campus.

KAP is a national model for providing education with opportunities for ASD adult students with a GPA of at least 3.0 so they can pursue associate degrees. Disability, rehabilitation, vocational and complete student mentoring services are available. ASD students sign contracts outlining their responsibilities and community involvement. There is individual support with weekend planning, social functions and help with daily skills such as meal planning and study time. ASD students live in resident housing at Western Kentucky University's main campus.

The University of Alabama Autism Spectrum Disorders College Transition and Support (UA-ACTS) is an individual, academic and social intervention transition guide for ASD students attending a separate undergraduate program at the University of Alabama. Therapist and mentor teams meet three times per week to recognize and implement daily living goals, social interaction, educational needs, campus and community participation and to promote self-advocacy and life satisfaction.

AHEADD is a private assistance program with personal coaching and career counseling that can "be applied to any college campus" across the United States. It is designed for students "looking for a true life of independence" and increased personal accountability. AHEADD stresses four core elements of success: staff interaction, utilizing campus resources, peer mentoring and developing a community support network. AHEADD supports ASD students with communication with staff, peers and the community and teaches how to set semester goals, find employment and manage time while attending college.
