St. Petersburg College (SPC) is at its core a community college. It offers students a variety of both two- and four-year degrees at nine different campus locations. Its low tuition rate, easily transferable credits and several options to obtain an A.A., A.S. or bachelor's degree make SPC a great option for those in the St. Petersburg area.

The International Academy of Design and Technology is a specialized college for those interested in technology or liberal arts. They offer degree programs in fashion design, interior design, graphic design, animation, audio production, fashion merchandising, photography, advertising design and game production. The school has a fairly stringent entrance process that includes a phone interview and standard application. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.

Eckerd College is a private, liberal arts and sciences college located in St. Petersburg. Eckerd College matriculates less than 2,000 students and they offer 40 degree programs. They specialize in such areas as marine science, environmental studies, international relations and global affairs, creative writing, organizational studies, study abroad and civic engagement. Eckerd College also has enrolled over 1,000 students in continuing education programs for adults.
