Penn State's College of Education is consistently ranked among the top teaching colleges in the nation, and continually shows high success rates on certification exams, according to Collegecrunch.org. There are a wide variety of specializations to choose from, including education and public policy, elementary and kindergarten, rehabilitation and human services, secondary education, special education, workforce education and development, and world languages. Most of the majors also incorporate a teacher-preparation program as well.

Ohio University's education program began more than 100 years ago, and was the catalyst for the launch of the state's kindergarten program. The College of Education "places significant emphasis on researching and solving social issues affecting educational achievement in our country and across the globe," according to Collegecrunch.org, and even offers educational help to other countries. The College of Education is made up of three different departments: Counseling and Higher Education, Educational Studies and Teacher Education.
Located in Athens, Ohio, the university has an overall enrollment of roughly 16,000 students. According to the university's website, the school was established in 1804, making it the oldest public institution of higher education in the state of Ohio.
