Pennsylvania State University (ed.psu.edu), or Penn State, is a public university that has five campuses across the state of Pennsylvania. The main campus is located in University Park. The university offers education degrees for those interested in early childhood, elementary education, secondary education, world language education, special education and workforce education and development. Penn State offers both undergraduate and graduate level degrees.
Temple University (temple.edu/education) is a public university located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Temple University's College of Education is the fifth largest college at the university. An average of 1,800 undergraduate and 650 graduate students enroll in Temple's Education program annually. The program is separated into three divisions. The Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology in Education offers degrees in early childhood education, elementary and secondary education and special education. Bloomsburg offers early childhood and adolescent education, exceptionality and special education as well as secondary education and educational studies. Students can obtain a bachelor's degree or a master's degree from many of the programs in the education department. The option to obtain a dual degree in elementary and special education is also offered. Graduates who choose this option will be able to teach both regular education and special needs students up to grade six.
Clarion University (clarion.edu) is a public university located in Clarion, Pennsylvania. The school offers a wide range of education certifications for prospective teachers. Clarion has a 100 percent passing rate for students who have taken the Praxis II exam. Clarion's education department is broken up into five specialized areas of education: the early childhood program, which focuses on pre-k through grade; middle-level education, which focuses on grades four through eight; secondary education, which prepare students to teach at the the high school level; music education and world language education. The education department offers graduate programs for students to obtain their master's degrees in education. Clarion also offers an online teaching certification program. Graduates of the online program receive the appropriate certifications, just as they would if they completed coursework in the classroom.
