The Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology, in northern Ontario, offers a three-year, Ontario Advanced Diploma in Music Performance. This program, which blends jazz and classical instruction, allows students to specialize in an instrument or voice. The program includes weekly one-hour private lessons as well. For students interested in pursuing additional study, Mohawk has transfer agreements with several schools, including the prestigious Berklee College in Boston, Massachusetts. McMaster and Athabasca Universities also have transfer agreements with Mohawk.

Cambrian College in Sudbury, Ontario, offers an Ontario College Diploma in Music Performance. This six-semester program allows students to major or minor in voice, brass, piano, percussion, classical guitar, strings or woodwinds. Additionally, students can perform in the Cambrian Concert series, which is open to the general public. Upon successful completion of the diploma, students will have received instruction in music theory, history, performance and entrepreneurship. Graduates can then teach, continue their studies or enter industry.

With over 150 programs in 40 areas of study, the Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, on Lake Shore Boulevard in Toronto, is the only publicly funded college to offer a four-year Bachelor of Applied Music in Contemporary Music. For students who have already completed a bachelor's or advanced degree, the college offers a bridging program that allows the program to be completed in less than four years. Students can specialize in voice or other instruments as well as composition. The curriculum provides musical and business instruction as well as exposure to non-traditional areas such as film scoring. In the fourth year of the program, students are expected to complete a major recording project, a portfolio and a press kit.
