Wayne State offers a bachelor's in Mortuary Science through its College of Pharmacy and Health Services. In 2009, 88 percent of its graduating students passed the National Board Examination on the first try. The program holds information meetings on the first Tuesday of each month.

UM has among the most extensive requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Mortuary Science. Before entering the major, students must take coursework including biology, chemistry, anatomy, financial reporting, public speaking, statistics, psychology, sociology and writing. The major itself consists of 60 credits of coursework.
