RN Programs in Southern California

The career field of nursing is expected to increase 22 percent from 2008 to 2018, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Registered nurses are expected to preform a medley of clinical tasks, from taking vital signs of patients to administering medication. In order to become a registered nurse, or RN, you need to complete a nursing program and pass a national exam. If you're interested in training to be a nurse in Southern California, look into the nursing programs offered at these three schools: California State University at Long Beach, Grossmont College and Moorpark College.
  1. California State University at Long Beach

Qualified students are accepted into one of three categories: basic/trimester (students without prior nursing education), registered nurse (students with prior nursing experience and education) and entry level MSN student (students who already have a bachelor's degree in another major and are entering the combined bachelor/master nursing program). CSU at Long Beach does offer financial aid to students who qualify.
