Indiana State University offers a bachelor of science degree in nursing online. The school is recognized by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. The university works with The College Network which offers students comprehensive learning materials for several college equivalency exams. Students can earn up to 76 credit hours of general education and elective college courses. Students go on to take 43 hours of upper division nursing courses, all available online. There is no waiting list, and clinical hours can be completed locally with a preceptor.

LVN students who enroll in the Mobility Option at Mount St. Mary's College are given the opportunity to take the National League for Nursing Mobility Exam. A minimum score of 75 percent is the requirement to continue in the school's Mobility Option. Students in this program can complete the BSN program in three years. Those students under the minimum score can continue in the basic associate degree nursing program.
