• Marietta sits 21 miles south of Canton and is home to three colleges: Life University, Southern Polytechnic State University and Chattahoochee Technical College. Each school instructs from 2,000 to 3,000 full-time students. Life University’s focus is health professions, offering a particular emphasis on chiropractic studies where students have the opportunity for undergraduate and graduate studies in the field. Southern Polytechnic State University’s strength is engineering. Most SPSU students study in one of its four engineering-based colleges: the School of Architecture, CET and Construction; the School of Computing and Software Engineering; the School of Engineering Technology and Management; or the Division of Engineering.
