Since its founding in 1970, Nashville State Community College (NSCC) has expanded its areas of study and campuses to include satellites in Waverly, Cookeville and Dickinson. Southwest Tennessee Community College is the result of the 2000 merge of Shelby State Community College and the State Technical Institute at Memphis.
