Toledo, Ohio Community Colleges

Toledo, Ohio, is close to the banks of Lake Erie and just south of Michigan. Tourists come to Toledo to see the zoo, the museum of art, the symphony orchestra and other cultural attractions, to say nothing of the night life and restaurants. The city also boasts many fine community colleges that strive to help students enter the work force with a strong educational background.
  1. Davis College

    • Davis College is split into four departments, with each one providing several degree programs. Students may choose to pursue their education through the Department of Administrative and Allied Health Professionals, Department of Business Administration and Information Technology, Department of Design or Department of General Education.

      Davis College offers associate degree programs including medical assisting, administrative office studies, accounting, computer networking, fashion merchandising, marketing, graphic design and interior design. Shorter diploma programs are offered in software applications, accounting, human resources, graphic design and other fields of study.

      Students will have 24/7 access to the Ohio Web library, a collection encompassing thousands of resource materials. The career resources program helps students work on their resume-building, interviewing and job-searching skills. Computer stations with Internet and printer access are available on campus.

    Mercy College

    • Mercy College of Northwest Ohio provides continuing education and medical programs for students who want to advance in the health care field. Programs in radiological technology, nursing, health information and health technology are available.

      The campus houses a full library of materials for students who need on-site study areas and resources. The nursing skills lab provides workspace and hands-on training for the medical professionals of tomorrow. Mercy College provides a low student-to-professor ratio to give every student individual attention.

    Owens Community College

    • Owens Community College offers more than 130 programs in small classroom settings, and much of the coursework can be transferred to other institutions of higher learning. Students may opt to begin their first two years of a bachelor's degree before moving to a four-year institution.

      The average class size is 15 students, which helps every one of them receive personal interaction with their professors. The campus itself covers 280 acres, conveniently located near downtown Toledo.
