    • Located in the Kingston metropolitan area, the University of Technology started out as the Jamaican Institute of Technology in 1958 and earned university status during the middle part of the 1990s. The institution also houses its own virtual School of Graduate Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship to provide support for research and publications.     Northern Caribbean University

    • Located in Mandeville, Manchester, in west central Jamaica, Northern Caribbean University is the oldest private tertiary institution in Jamaica. The Seventh Day Adventist Church manages the institution, which offers undergraduate and graduate courses under six colleges: Arts and General Studies; Natural and Applied Sciences; Graduate Education and Leadership; Business and Hospitality Management; Teacher Education and Behavioral Sciences; and Religion and Theology. Northern Caribbean University is the sister school of Hyacinth Chen Nursing School. The campus features four National Historic Sites as declared by the Jamaica National Heritage Trust. Northern Caribbean University also serves as home to E. G. W. Research Center and the Office of Research and Publications. The school also offers scholarships and financial grants.
