The College of Fine Arts within the University of Florida's School of Art and Art History offers undergraduate and graduate programs in creative photography. The department's course offerings span traditional photography and new media and technology. Undergraduates work toward the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree, and graduate students work toward the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree. All graduate photography students must participate in the interdisciplinary graduate seminar, and they also must present work in the graduate thesis exhibition in the final year of the program.

The University of Central Florida offers two programs in photography. Students at the Orlando campus can work toward a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in photography. All students must complete interdisciplinary art foundation courses before entering the photography major.
UCF also offers a Bachelor of Science degree program in photography in collaboration with Daytona State College. This program is based at the UCF eastern region campus at Daytona State College. Students who complete Daytona State College's two-year Associate of Science (AS) degree in photographic technology can then enter the UCF Bachelor of Science program in photography.

Students working toward a two-year associate degree at Santa Fe College can major in visual arts. The visual arts department offers a variety of courses in photography, including classes on darkroom processes, digital photography, portraiture and the history of photography. With the help of faculty, visual arts majors can prepare portfolios of their work to use in applications to photography programs at four-year institutions. The visual arts department offers a course in portfolio development designed for this purpose.
