Cite information from a publication by a board of directors by using the name of the board just as you would for any source written by an association, corporation or agency. For instance, a sentence containing such information might begin, "According to the Purdue University Board of Directors..."
Include the year of publication inside parentheses immediately after the name of the board in the sentence:
"According to the Purdue University Board of Directors (2010), plagiarism remains a serious issue."
Put the same information inside a citation at the end of the sentence if you choose not to use a signal phrase, placing a comma between the name and date:
"Plagiarism remains a serious issue (Purdue University Board of Directors, 2010)."
The names of groups like directorial boards are typically written out completely for each citation. If an abbreviation is appropriate, it can be used for all citations after the first one.
To include a board of directors as a source on the references page, follow the guidelines for organizational reports or proceedings. Give the name of the board followed by a period, the publication year in parentheses followed by a period, the title of the document (if it has one) in italics followed by a period, and then the city of publication, a comma and the state abbreviation, followed by a colon and the publisher's name (this may be the same as the board of directors itself). Put a period at the end of the entry. The entry looks like this:
Purdue University Board of Directors. (2010). Academic Integrity Concerns. West Lafayette, IN: Genereaux.
