Founded over 40 years ago, the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University offers both undergraduate and graduate acting programs. The University of Oklahoma's School of Drama is the second oldest drama school in the United States. Their performance-centered programs include five major degree tracks in acting, design, dramaturgy, stage management and technical production. The University of Connecticut Department of Dramatic Arts offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting. The school's colloquium series features seminars by leading professional actors and directors who discuss their methods and strategies and critique student work. UConn's acting philosophy is based at its core on the theories of Konstantin Stanislavski, who stressed masking techniques that go beyond conventional interpretive acting methods.
