The University of Virginia School of Nursing offers bachelor's, master's and graduate degrees in nursing. There are no prerequisites for the traditional bachelor's degree program. Virginia Commonwealth University offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral nursing programs. Founded in 1893, the school changes as the nursing field and health care technology evolves. VCU is committed to new discoveries in research, teaching and service. Prospective students are encouraged to attend an information session before applying to the program. Marymount University offers bachelor's, master's and two graduate nursing programs. Bachelor's degree applicants must have with a 2.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, a combined SAT score of 900 or a composite ACT score of 19 or higher. Previous courses in biology and chemistry are recommended. Academic and need-based scholarships are available in addition to grants and financial aid. Students must complete the curriculum and an internship, clinical experience, or student-teaching assignment to graduate from the program.

Chamberlain College of Nursing offers bachelor's and master's nursing degree programs. Applicants must have a combined SAT score of 990, an ACT composite score of 21 or minimum A2 Admission Assessment score of 75. They must also have a high school cumulative GPA of 2.75. Tuition payments are to be made in full before the first day of classes each semester.

Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing is part of Bon Secours Virginia Health System, a Catholic, not-for-profit community-based health care organization. During the 1800s, the Sisters of Bon Secours ("Good Help") provided care to sick and dying patients in France. The organization developed into an international health care organization. The school's goal is to help individuals achieve academic and clinical nursing expertise and to serve the community with compassion and superb health care skills. To apply for the bachelor's degree program, applicants must have graduated with a 2.5 GPA from high school, completed chemistry and biology classes and pass a pre-admission entrance exam.
