Students just beginning their studies in game design may be interested in the Associate Degree in Video Game Design program at Keiser University, which has more than 10 campuses throughout Florida. Course work in the two-year program includes Game Development; Applied Game Design; 3D Modeling; Game Modeling and Animation; Photo Editing and Manipulation; C++ Programming; Game Texture Mapping; Level Design and Advanced 3D Animation. Students must also complete general education core classes such as English, history and college math.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. SAT and ACT scores are not required, but candidates without those test scores must take an entrance exam. Applicants should be aware that courses from this program may not transfer to a traditional four-year bachelor's degree program.

Students also take core classes such as Statistical Analysis; Speech Communications and Introduction to Sociology. The school provides the opportunity to work hands-on with the latest game development software products plus a working motion capture facility.
