The Louisiana Academy of Beauty (LAB) provides training for aspiring cosmetologists in Eunice. The cosmetology course at LAB includes training in makeup, nails, hair and skin care. Students receive hair-specific training in areas such as styling, cutting, coloring, relaxing, waving and permanents. The course takes 1,500 hours of classroom and practical training, which generally takes at least a year to complete when students commit to 30 hours of training per week.
The academy also offers training for cosmetologists who would like to become instructors. This program takes 750 hours to finish, meeting four days a week for a total of 30 hours a week.

Remington College offers a program in cosmetology at its Baton Rouge location. The program covers all aspects of the business including the creative, scientific and business practices needed to succeed in the field. The cosmetology program covers more than just hair care; students also receive training in nail and skin care to complement their hair care training. The cost of tuition includes textbooks as well as the equipment and supplies necessary for working in the trade, which, according to the school, are valued at over $2,000 as of 2010. Finally, students have the opportunity to take a variety of Matrix certification tests upon completing the program, making finding employment at Matrix salons easier.

Pat Goins Beauty Schools have three locations in Louisiana, including campuses in Ruston, Monroe and Bossier City. The cosmetology training program includes practical and theoretical training to help students find and keep jobs in the field upon graduation. Students are trained in diagnosing issues with hair and finding the proper chemical process to correct problems. Pat Goins Beauty Schools are accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences in Virginia. The school also has a license from the Louisiana State Board of Cosmetology.

The Regency Beauty Institute has a campus in Shreveport, serving the cosmetology education needs of Northern Louisiana. The program at Regency requires 1,500 clock hours to complete, generally taking between 11 and 12 months. Students practice on mannequins for their first 320 hours of training before progressing to working on paying customers.
