The Career Academy of Beauty (CAofB) in Garden Grove, California, offers training in cosmetology, aesthetics and manicuring. The school teaches more than the basic state requirements in just under 10 months. About 70 percent of the training is hands-on in haircutting and all aspects of hairstyling and shaping, using professional haircare products. Full-time students will train 40 hours per week from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. or from 1:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays. Several part-time options are also offered, as is financial aid.
