Indiana University's Bloomington campus offers bachelors, masters and doctoral degree programs in sports management. Recognizing industry needs, Indiana began its undergraduate and masters programs in 1985. The doctoral program does not stress marketing but instead concentrates on research and preparing students to enter academia. In 1988, programs were restructured to include business courses through the university's Kelley School of Business. Courses at Indiana center on the commercial and business aspects of sports to prepare students for sports marketing and management careers and entrepreneurship.
