A certificate program is not a degree but shows proficiency in a specific area of study. It could be a specific course or area of study that is appealing or needed to obtain a job. Plus, these online sites provide a very good idea of what to look for from other online sites.
The associate degree is a two-year program of study. These are offered by local community colleges either as a standalone degree or part of a continuing quest for a four-year bachelor's degree. Check with the local community college or trade school in your area for courses that may be of interest in the hospitality arena. Online schools are also a very good source of classes.
Several of the best known colleges who have excellent hospitality management programs are Cornell University in New York, nationally known for its Hotel Management program; University of Nevada -- Las Vegas, located right in the heart of the famous casino resort hotels; and University of Central Florida, located in the theme park capital of the world in Orlando, Florida.
Master's programs are offered by the same schools that offer a bachelor's degree. The courses are a natural continuation of the undergraduate workload. In addition to these schools, large universities such as Ohio State, Penn State and University of Tennessee offer excellent and well known programs. However, there are only a few online master's degree programs being offered at this time in the hospitality management field.
