Located in the southwestern Indiana city of the same name, Vincennes University is a public two-year university. Founded in 1801, Vincennes offers associate degrees, certificate and transfer programs in more than 200 areas of study, as well as select baccalaureate degree programs on each of its four campuses. The university's Health Information Management associate degree program is housed within the Health Sciences and Human Performance department. The two-year program's curriculum trains students in all aspects of managing medical records and related health information administration skills. Required courses include Medical Terminology for Allied Health and Health Care Coding I and II, as well as general education requirements and a liberal education core. Established in 1963, Indiana's Ivy Tech Community College system has campuses throughout the state, including the Central Indiana campus in the capital city of Indianapolis. The two-year public community college offers more than 150 programs and concentrations across the 22 campuses throughout the state.
