DeVry University offers an associate's degree in the health information technology field. DeVry offers an Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Technology. The degree program is a 67 credit hour program that students can take on any of the DeVry campuses or in an online format. Students can later choose to transfer the degree credits to the bachelor's degree program in technical management with an emphasis in health information management. Courses of study include a variety of subjects in the field including health insurance and reimbursement, understanding medical terminology, introduction to information systems and health services, legal and regulatory issues in health information and international classification of disease coding.
