Ultrasound Tech Schools

Ultrasound techs, also called sonographers or diagnostic medical imagers are members of the health care team who generate images using sound waves. Although ultrasounds are typically used in pregnancy, they are also used to diagnose kidney stones, gallstones or ovarian cysts. A two-year associate's or four-year bachelor's degree is required for employment. Although licensing is not required for ultrasound techs, the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography offers voluntary certification for diagnostic medical imagers.
