Pennsylvania College of Technology offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree (A.A.S.) in Computer Aided Drafting Technology, which will prepare you for an entry position as a drafter/detailer. You'll also study math, English and science classes that are a foundation for continuing on to an applied engineering technology bachelor's degree. During the program, you'll gain experience in the different areas of drafting including mechanical, structural, civil and electrical/electronics, as well as learning how to create piping and tool and die drawings. You'll study CAD techniques for two- and three-dimensional drawings and 3D modeling. Upon entering the program, you must complete proficiency tests in English, math and reading, and you may be required to take additional classes to bring these skills up to the college's standards.
