In addition to offering bachelor's degrees in three subjects and a variety of professional certificates, Gainseville State College offers two-year associate degrees in 79 subject areas including paralegal studies, culinary arts, exercise science, journalism, philosophy, surgical technology, cosmetology and physics. Athens Technical College offers more than three dozen programs leading to associate degrees, certificates or diplomas. These programs are divided into three departments. The Business and Public Service Department has programs in, for example, criminal justice technology, hotel management and accounting. The Life Sciences Department includes dental hygiene, veterinary technology and radiography. The Technical and Industrial Department encompasses programs such as interior design, residential plumbing and commercial truck driving.
