Founded in 1964, Middlesex County College is a public two-year college in the suburban northern New Jersey township of Edison. The college’s academic catalog includes more than 80 associate degree programs, as well as an extensive selection of certificate programs of study.
Middlesex’s Associate in Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology degree program prepares graduates for entry-level positions as clinical laboratory technicians or to pursue further study in the field. In addition to science courses in biology and chemistry, Middlesex’s medical laboratory technology curriculum also includes five required field-specific courses. Students must also complete a summer session, in addition to the program’s regular four-semester curriculum.

Camden County College is a public two-year community college with campuses in the southern New Jersey communities of Blackwood, Camden and Cherry Hill. Established in 1967, Camden offers associate degree and certificate programs in a range of areas, from accounting to video imaging.
Camden’s Associate in Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology program is one of the several Allied Health field programs available to students matriculated at the college.
As part of the program’s curriculum requirements, students take courses like Clinical Hematology, Immunohematology and Clinical Microbiology. Camden medical laboratory technology students are also required to complete a fieldwork experience, and are assigned to work at a local hospital in the program’s final semester.

Founded in 1966, Mercer County Community College is a public two-year community college with two campuses in the central New Jersey county it is named for. The college’s academic catalog includes associate degree and certificate programs of study in business, natural science and allied health fields, among other areas. Mercer’s Medical Laboratory Technology program takes less than two years to complete.
Prior to taking professional courses like Principles of Medical Laboratory Technology and Hematology, students must complete general science courses as part of the program’s pre-professional phase. Additionally, Mercer medical laboratory students must also complete full-time clinical experience requirements.
