The School of Forest Resources at the University of Arkansas offers bachelor degree programs in wildlife management. In order to successfully complete their training, students must satisfy 124 college credits; the program runs for four years on a full-time basis. Graduates from the program will be well-prepared to find employment in wildlife preservation programs or work in public recreation facilities. Course offerings include physiology, genetics, ecology and nutrition. The program also prepares graduates for careers in public relations and research. A background in courses like mathematics, English, physics and chemistry is helpful.

The College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources at the University of Nevada is equipped with modern teaching and research facilities. The wildlife ecology and conservation major is a multi-disciplinary program that emphasizes scientifically grounded instruction in wildlife ecology and conservation biology. The training will provide students with a solid foundation in basic science courses like biology and chemistry along with instruction in the management, restoration and conservation of wildlife. In addition to their classroom instruction, students will also have opportunities to conduct independent research in facilities that are furnished with state-of-the-art technology. The wildlife management course is specifically designed for students who wish to work in fish and wildlife careers, and is a two-year associate degree program. The wildlife science bachelor's degree program is for students with an interest in pursuing careers beyond entry-level positions in wildlife management.
