San Francisco State University

• The San Francisco State University College of Extended Learning offers a certificate program in project management, with courses in project planning and management, scheduling fundamentals, project risk management, project estimating, project communications management and quality management. Courses are available in the daytime, evening and weekends. Students must have at least 56 credits of undergraduate work with a minimum grade point average of 2.0 or work experience.

Bellevue College

• Students just starting their studies in the project management field may be interested in the Bellevue College project management certificate program. Classes include introduction to project management, project execution and control, managing the project team, project communication skills, project start-up tips, coaching skills for leaders, ethics and project management, working with virtual teams and why projects succeed. There is no formal application to the program and no educational requirements; students must have basic computer and writing skills, plus the ability to conduct research. Students have a total of 13 quarters (just over three years) to complete the program.

Drexel University Online

• Take your project management education further with Drexel University Online's master of science in project management degree. The program, which may be completed in two years, offers courses in project planning and scheduling, project risk assessment, e-tools for project management, international project management, project quality management, managing multiple projects and project management leadership. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree (any major) with a grade point average of at least 3.0, resume, essay and two letters of recommendation. Students must also have Internet access and a variety of hardware and software programs to allow them to communicate with their teachers and classmates online.
