The project management critical skills series at Rutgers concentrates on educating students in working and managing a budget. The series includes classes in strategic project management, managing project teams and controlling project risks and costs. The courses combine technical skills with people skills. The strategic project management course curriculum includes project planning, requirements definition, project staffing and contingency planning. The controlling projects risks and costs course teaches students how to identify risks, develop response strategies and control risks.
A certificate in project management through Rutgers University is a combination of course in project management. Starting with project management and ending with the delegation process. This certificate program provides the knowledge and skills a student needs to pass the project management degree examination given out by the Project Management Institute, or PMI. The certification requires project management courses in time management, project quality, procurement, human resources and a host of other project management certification requirements equaling 120 semester hours of course work. The time management course trains a student in managing a projects time efficiently while the human resources course concentrate on the employees rights, equal opportunity rules and regulations as it pertains to the projects workers.
The project management dual certificate program provides the student with online training as well as a three-day classroom training at Rutgers University. This project management course educates the student in using Microsoft Project and prepares them for testing through PMI. The course includes classes on resource management, calender work schedule manipulation and other essential project management skills. The online courses include project lifecycles and stakeholders, executing and completing a project, planning and controlling project scope and 30 hours of Project Management Professional exam certification preparation.
