    • The Peabody College at Vanderbilt University was ranked the number one teaching school in the United States by "U.S. News & World Report." The campus is located in Nashville, Tennessee. The school consists of five unique departments, a graduate school and national research centers.

      Peabody is the largest undergraduate department at Vanderbilt. There are also more than 50 alumni who are current or former college or university presidents.     • The College of Education at Penn State University places 600 teachers per year, and 98 percent of the graduates are either employed or enrolled in grad school within one year of graduation. Penn state is accredited by the Middle States Association. "Washington Monthly" rated it seventh in its "Top 10 Best U.S. National Universities" for 2009.

    • Stanford University is located in Stanford, California, in the San Francisco Bay area. This school consistently ranks among the top ten education schools in the United States in "US News & World Report." The master's programs are very small, for the purpose of giving students an intimate setting for academic inquiry. Many programs enroll less than 20 students.
