A part-time, accelerated online master's degree program, Rowan University's M.A. in School and Public Librarianship is largely focused on teaching the skills necessary for those seeking to work as a school library media specialist. However, the program also provides the necessary credentials for the state public library certification. With 11 three-credit courses that run consecutively over six semesters, the program is only available online. The courses needed to complete the program include design and production of educational media, reference resources and services, library collections and resources, survey of children's and young adult literature and organization of library resources.
