While in the Army, soldiers learn not only physical training and discipline but also many difficult skills that prepare them well for civilian jobs. Unfortunately, many soldiers do not know how to present that training to a college admissions officer, and so find themselves having to relearn basic material. By using the Army/American Council of Education Registry Transcript System (AARTS), a soldier can present his information in a standardized transcript format. AARTS summarizes information from several sources, including course completions from the Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS), standardized tests from the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and American College Testing (ACT), and credit recommendations from the American Council on Education (ACE).
