The University of Michigan-Flint is one of three University of Michigan campus locations. This public university, located in Flint, Michigan, offers a fully accredited BSN program. The program is offered in a traditional two-year schedule and 16-month accelerated schedule for students seeking a second bachelor degree or current RNs. Graduates will qualify to take National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become licensed. Saginaw Valley State University is a public university located two hours north of Detroit in Saginaw, Detroit. SVSU's BSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and is offered in two formats, BSN and RN-to-BSN (an accelerated program). It takes one to two years to complete either program, depending on the program and prerequisite courses you may need. Some of the course work includes nursing across lifespan, pharmacology, professional role development and health of populations. Graduates will be able to take National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). To be eligible for this program, you will have to pass pre-nursing courses, complete an interview and submit a writing sample.

Wayne State University, located in the heart of Detroit, Michigan offers a BSN program in which 96 percent of program graduates pass the state licensure exam (NCLEX-RN) the first time. Like the other colleges, WSU offers a three-year traditional program for incoming freshman and 16-month, second degree accelerated program for college graduates and nurses. The courses in both program are similar, with the exception of the extra classes needed in the three-year program. Some of those courses include health assessment, restorative care, nursing implications of drug administration and nursing research. Prerequisites with GPA requirements are required to gain admission into these programs.
