    • The University of North Texas offers a Master of Science in Health Promotion through its Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion and Recreation. The degree program requires 36 credit hours for completion. Of these, 18 hours are core courses in health promotion. Core courses include: Research Perspectives in Kinesiology, Health Promotion and Recreation, Stress Management for the Health Professional, Critical Health Issues, Advanced Concepts in Epidemiology and Health Promotion: Advanced Concepts and Theories. Students have opportunities to pursue either a thesis or a non-thesis option. Students who choose not to complete the thesis complete an additional six hours of coursework to compensate for the thesis.

    Indiana University

    • Indiana University's Department of Applied Health Science offers a Master of Science in Health Promotion. The primary emphasis of the curriculum is the management of health education programs in a variety of settings. Students must complete 35 credit hours for the degree. One of the major highlights of the health promotion is the opportunity to take a "travel study" class. Students travel to China and Thailand to learn about health promotion from an Eastern perspective.

    George Mason University

    • George Mason University offers a Master of Science in Exercise, Fitness and Health Promotion (E.F.H.P.). The program's primary focus is on the role of fitness and exercise in health promotion strategies. It requires 30 credit hours for completion. Of these, 18 credit hours are required in the fields of Exercise and Sport Psychology; Foundations of Exercise, Fitness, and Health Promotion; Research Design and Statistical Reasoning; Fitness Assessment and Advanced Exercise Nutrition. Students also complete a combination of six to 12 credit hours of elective or thesis work.
