Canadian Music Colleges

Canadian post-secondary students pursuing a career in music may begin their journey with a two-year college diploma. These intimate, community-level institutions offer transfer programs towards bachelor degrees in music and fine arts.



Colleges vary in their curriculum from the basics in performance, history, theory and composition to the technical side with courses involving recording, engineering and music commerce.

    • The Grande Praire Regional College (GPRC) offers a Bachelor of Music program transferable towards a University of Alberta Faculty of Arts music degree. GPRC also offers a music diploma course for full-time and part-time students with available evening classes.
