Nova Southeastern University's Department of Audiology offers an audiologist assistant certificate program. This distance learning program gives students access to a website where they view course materials, take tests and participate in tutorials. Course lectures are conducted by video, and slides are provided to students. In addition, students have access to computer simulation software that guides them as they work on practice cases. Nova Southeastern University's audiologist assistant program is designed for students to complete at their own pace, although they have six months allotted to earn their certificates.

The University of Central Florida offers bachelor's level audiology degrees through its Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Students who complete these degrees are eligible to become audiologist assistants, as the program meets the requirements to become certified by the state. During the program, students take courses in audiology, speech disorders, neurology and communication, speech perception, physiology and speech, and speech production.

Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute in North Carolina offers an associate level speech language pathology assistant degree, which is designed to teach students how to provide remediation services to those with communication disorders. Students in this program take courses on anatomy, psychology, public speaking, communication and the ethical practices of the profession. The program can be completed in two years.
