How to Write APA Format References

American Psychological Association format, also referred to simply as APA format, is a style of formatting and citation that is most commonly used by students and professionals working within social sciences such as psychology, psychiatry and sociology. APA format sets forth clear guidelines governing the form in which a writer should arrange different types of references in a reference list. In APA format, the form a reference takes depends upon what type of source you are referencing.
