Augsburg College, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is one of the largest private colleges in Minnesota. The college offers three accredited practical nursing degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), a Master of Arts in Nursing (MAN) and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP). Classes are held on the Minneapolis, Rochester and United Hospital campuses. The BSN degree requires completion of seven nursing courses. Both an associate-level nursing degree and a Registered Nurse license are prerequisites for the BSN. The MAN degree offers two educational tracks--Transcultural Nursing Community and Transformational Leadership & Management. St. Catherine University, which was formerly known as the College of St. Catherine, is a private university with campuses in St. Paul and Minneapolis. The university offers a variety of nursing degrees, which include two bachelor-level degrees, two associate-level degrees, one master's, one doctorate and one postbaccalaureate certificate. The school is all-female for all baccalaureate degrees, but offers degrees to men and women for its postbaccalaureate degrees.

Located in Duluth, Minnesota, the College of St. Scholastica has both undergraduate and graduate practical nursing degrees.
