Tennessee Religious Colleges

The wide variety of Christian colleges in Tennessee come from different denominations and backgrounds. They offer programs in ministry, theology and Christian education as well as general education and liberal arts programs.     • Bryan College was founded in 1930 and is located in Dayton, Tennessee. It offers courses in biblical studies, Christian ministry, Christian leadership and Christian thought as well as programs in biology, business, computer science, English mathematics, and other liberal arts. As of 2010, they had 1,250 students enrolled.

    Lipscomb University

    • According to its website,"Lipscomb University delivers a complete education characterized by a distinctive integration of Christian faith and practice with academic excellence." Lipscomb was founded in 1891, at the time it was called Nashville Bible School. As of 2010, 3,050 students were enrolled at Lipscomb college. It is located outside of Nashville, Tennessee.

    Milligan College

    • Milligan College was founded in 1866 with a Christian focus. Its website boasts that it is, "One of the Top Christian Colleges in Tennessee." Milligan is a liberal arts college with more than 25 programs in a variety of fields including Christian ministry, childhood education, communications and general science. Milligan College is located minutes from Elizabethton and Johnson City in northeastern Tennessee.

    Victory University

    • Victory University is a Christian liberal art college in Memphis, Tennessee. Victory University used to be named Crichton College. It became a private, for-profit institution of higher learning and changed its name in May 2010. Victory University has degree programs in arts and sciences, behavioral sciences, bible and theology, business and education.

    Southern Adventist University

    • Southern Adventist University is, "an accredited four-year co-educational institution operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church." As of 2010 it has 2,500 students enrolled. It is located in Collegedale, Tennessee. Southern Adventist University offers baccalaureate degrees in more than 50 majors, associate degrees in more than 20 majors and seven masters degrees in areas of health, business, education and religion.

    The Crown College of the Bible

    • Crown College is a Baptist college, founded in 1991. It has programs in ministry, business, education and language. At the graduate level, it has a seminary school and graduate school where students can earn a Master of Christian Education at all levels, including administrative. Crown College is located in Powell, Tennessee.

    Tennessee Bible College

    • Tennessee Bible College is located in Cookeville, Tennessee. According to its website, the school is, "Dedicated to training Bible preachers and Christian workers in Bible doctrine, apologetics, and evangelism."
