Patrick Henry College in Virginia may be the one independent college that has not necessarily built its reputation on fundamentalist Biblical studies or Christian ministry degree programs. Instead, Patrick Henry College has a reputation for providing a high-caliber liberal arts education. The college welcomes students from a wide variety of denominational backgrounds that run the spectrum from Baptists to Pentecostals. The school has built its bible curriculum into the liberal arts curriculum of its various degree programs. Students must complete at least two courses in Biblical theology and at least one course in the principles of Biblical reasoning.

Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Okla., was founded in 1963 by its namesake, television evangelist Oral Roberts. The university has undergone a number of transformations throughout its history due to the largely controversial nature of Roberts' ministry. Nonetheless, the school has continued to offer its distinctively fundamentalist Christian worldview for like-minded students. Although the school was at one time affiliated with the Methodist denomination, it has always maintained a decidedly charismatic and Pentecostal flavor. The school maintains its denominational independence despite these influences. The school is home to both an undergraduate and graduate school of theology and missions. Within the Bible programs offered by ORU, students can pursue studies in areas such as Biblical studies, historical theology, Christian counseling and Christian missions. The school also offers a full undergraduate liberal arts curriculum as well as additional graduate programs in areas like education.

Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham Alabama is also a Christian Bible college with no denominational affiliation. The school began offering its first classes in 1935. The school maintains its distinct emphasis on Biblical studies, building into every aspect of the undergraduate curriculum. For instance, graduates of the Bachelor of Arts program in the arts and sciences actually major in Bible and theology and receive their minor in other more classic liberal arts fields like biology or English. The school also offers a minor in the field of Christian apologetics and majors in Christian education and leadership ministries.
