Texas Bible Colleges

The state of Texas offers a variety of degree programs at several Bible Colleges. Areas of study include theology, Christian education, Christian music, missions, Christian leadership and Christian counseling. You may obtain a certificate, an associate degree, a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or even pursue doctoral credits. The studies prepare you for being a pastor, Christian educator, music leader, a missionary, or may simply increase your knowledge of the Bible and religious studies.
  1. Texas Bible College

    • Texas Bible College, located in Lufkin, offers two degrees in theology. You need to complete sixty-seven hours of coursework to obtain an associate degree in theology, and 136 hours of coursework for a bachelor's degree in theology. This college also offers an associate and bachelor's degree in Christian education, Christian music, and in Missions. An associate degree in religious studies is available in conjunction with courses taken at Angelina College.

    College of Biblical Studies

    • The College of Biblical Studies, in Houston, offers certificate programs, associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, and Ministry programs. It also offers an accelerated bachelor of science degree in Christian Leadership, and a bachelor of science degree in Christian counseling. Classes are available six days a week, which include day, evening, and classes held on Saturday. This college values the presence of multiple cultures and ethnicity in the educational process.

    South Texas Bible Institute

    • South Texas Bible Institute, in Corpus Christi, offers course credits toward an Associate of Arts degree. It also provides a bachelor's degree in the College of Biblical Studies and a bachelor's degree in the College of Pastoral Care and Ministry. This college also offers a Master of Arts degree in the College of Biblical Studies and Theology, the College of Pastoral Care and Ministry, and in the College of Clinical Pastoral Counseling. Postgraduate courses for students pursuing a Doctorate in the college of Biblical Studies and Theology are also offered.

    Texas Baptist College

    • Texas Baptist College, located in Longview, has several academic departments including theology, Christian education and Christian music. The bachelor of theology diplomas require 128 hours of coursework and are for men who wish to serve in a pastoral role, in missions, or as evangelists. The bachelor of Christian Education diploma equips those who wish to become teachers at Christian elementary or secondary schools. The bachelor of Christian music diploma involves participation in either orchestra or the choir of Baptist Longview Church. This program will teach students how to lead worship services, how to develop their vocal ability, and they will be able to minister in a variety of music groups.
