The Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology is a community college with four campuses across the province, including the main campus and administrative offices in Saskatoon. As of 2010, SIAST has approximately 14,000 full-time students enrolled in more than 160 different academic programs. The programs at SIAST principally focus on skills training and technical education and the college offers apprenticeship programs in more than 30 different trades. In fact, SIAST provides the majority of apprenticeship training in the province of Saskatchewan. In addition to its on-site course options, SIAST offers some courses through distance education using correspondence, online or television course delivery platforms. As of 2010, full-time tuition fees at SIAST's Saskatoon campus range from approximately CA$2,500 to CA$7,500, or US$2,470 to US$7,409, per year, depending on the program of study.
The Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies has campuses across the province and it is dedicated to providing education and skills training to Saskatchewan's native population. The board of governors is composed of chiefs from Saskatchewan's First Nations and, whenever possible, admission preference is given to native students. Non-native students, though, are still eligible for admission to SIIT. Programs offered at SIIT include aircraft maintenance engineering, health and community studies, business administration and various industrial and trades programs. In order to reach as many students as possible, SIIT operates a number of Industrial Career Centers across the province, in addition to its three main campuses in Regina, Prince Albert and Saskatoon. SIIT also offers a Mobile Career Coach service, which travels to remote communities to assess training needs and provide career advice to native populations.
Saskatoon has a number of private and career colleges. These colleges generally do not receive public funding and they may not be overseen by any government body. Career colleges usually offer specific training programs in one professional area. Saskatoon has career colleges offering programs in esthetics, business, fashion design, broadcasting and others.
