A List of Engineering Colleges in Canada

Canada is home to many engineering colleges. These colleges provide training in a variety of engineering fields, from mechanical engineering to chemical engineering and more exotic variants, such as space engineering. Engineering education is organized under its own school or faculty, allowing the college to focus specifically on the science without regard for other disciplines. No matter where you are in Canada, there is an engineering program for you.
  1. York University

    • York University in Toronto offers engineering education through its School of Engineering. The school includes three engineering programs or "streams." In the computer engineering stream, students learn how to develop both computer hardware and software. Courses for upper-level computer engineering students include logic, probability, electronics, digital communication and computer architecture. The geomatics stream boasts a high level of demand for graduates. Geomatics is a new field of engineering based around the collection and collation of geographic data. Upper-level geomatics students take courses in continuum mechanics, electricity and magnetism. The space engineering stream trains students in the science of constructing space vehicles. It is the only such program in Canada. An optional internship is available to all York School of Engineering students between their third and fourth year of college.

    University of Calgary

    • The University of Calgary's engineering school is the Schulich School of Engineering. The school serves both undergraduate and graduate students. Programs in the school include software, oil and gas, geomatic, chemical, mechanical, civil, electrical and computer engineering. Students at Schulich may also specialize in biomedical engineering and energy and environmental engineering. Calgary is considered the "engineering capital of Canada," making this university an ideal place for students pursuing a degree in the field.
