San Antonio College is located across from San Pedro Park, in downtown San Antonio. San Antonio College is the largest single campus community college in the state of Texas, with an average annual enrollment of 16,000 students. San Antonio College offers many Associate degree programs including the Associate of Arts, the Associate of Arts in Teaching and the Associate of Science degrees. In addition, the college offers certificates and Associate of Applied Science Degrees in 47 different technical/occupational fields.
Northwest Vista College is one of the newer community colleges in San Antonio, as of early 2011. Located in northwest San Antonio, it is a modern campus focusing on technical and occupational fields. For example, Northwest Vista offers programs in nine different technical/occupational fields including biotechnology and computer programming. In addition, the Northwest Vista completed a state-of-the-art Fine and Performing Arts building in 2009.
Palo Alto College is located in southwestern Bexar county, off of the 410 freeway near Lackland Air Force Base. In addition to courses offered on campus, college level courses are also available in off-campus locations such as area high schools. Providing courses at local schools enables high school students to earn college credit without having to commute.
Palo Alto College also has a child care center located on its main campus, so parents have a safe place to leave their children while they continue their education.
